HELP US GO GREEN IN ORANGE COUNTY - 2009Help us educate the Community and support Go–Green in Orange County. Each year we have more then 20,000 consumers attend the Celebrity Food Show in Anaheim. This being the 6th year of this event the number of people attending increase annually with a projected turnout of 25,000 consumers expected this August 2009. Last year we were faced with thousands upon thousands of pounds of empty water bottles and the unpleasant chore of disposing them. It was shocking I stood in the disposal area in complete surprise to see so many plastic containers of empty water bottles left form one event.
I began looking into making our event a Go-Green area – A No Plastic Water Bottle Event this year. Believe it or not it has been a challenge, but I am determined to do something on our end to help our planet. Yes, my job is producing the Celebrity Food Show but my expectation is to have everyone of the 25,000 consumers attending this event in 2009 receive a stainless steel re-usable water bottle, re-usable shopping bag and a brochure on the effects of plastic bottles in our environment. After the 2008 event my family began to use stainless steel water bottles, we installed a water system and have not purchased cases of plastic water bottles in 7 months. At the office we have a water tank and have supplied our staff with their own stainless steel water bottles to use. We need your help. Help us hand out reusable water bottles and re-usable bags to the consumers along with an informative brochure on Going Green - Help us educate the Community and help us support Go–Green in Orange County.
